OSCAR

The Kansas Department of Labor, Division of Workers Compensation Division, has spent the last few years preparing to implement a new Online System for Claims Administration Research/Regulation (OSCAR) which will be able to be used by claimants, attorneys, employers, insurers and claim adjusters.  The implementation of OSCAR is made up by a team from the Kansas Department of Labor, Workers Compensation Division staff, WorkComp Strategies, Inc. consultant’s and CapTech programmers.  OSCAR, among other capabilities would provide a case history listing and allow selected filings/requests to be submitted electronically and processed by an automated workflow by the division.  This means we should be able to save time and potentially move our cases along more rapidly since we won’t need to mail out pleadings to other parties or contact them by phone/e-mail to schedule hearings.

Full system launch is scheduled for this fall.  Training on OSCAR for clerks, paralegals, legal assistants and attorneys will be provided at the 44th annual workers compensation seminar held in September. Our office is eager to learn more about OSCAR in September and are excitedly waiting to get started.

If you have questions regarding OSCAR you may reach out to our office or e-mail the Kansas Department of Labor directly at kdol.oscar@ks.gov.
